Connections:

Have you noticed how connections make everything better?

I have. I’m just back from the Realm Makers writers’ conference. Even though I’m an introvert at heart, there is nothing like getting together with people who share your passions. Yes, there were classes, networking, great speakers, a book fair, and even a cosplay banquet, but the best part is talking with other writers.

Spending time with people who understand your own brand of weirdness cannot be equaled. The sense of belonging… feeling understood… encouragement… these only come when we connect. No matter what lights your spark, find someone to share it with. Whether that means joining a group or getting together with one person, the rewards are well worth the effort.

Writing News:

Last month I promised to tell you more about Devron, the main character of my next book: To Form a Passage.

Devron is gifted as a former, so he can perceive the internal structure of solid matter and alter it by command alone. He’d rather spend his days creating art and leave heavy work to the rest of the Formers’ Guild. Yet he is the only former who still dares to use his gift after quakes isolate underground cities and plunge the masses into spiraling panic. He alone finds a solution–and it’s terrifying.

Enough for now. I hope to show you the cover next month. Can’t wait!

Recommendations:

Speaking of Realm Makers, here are this year’s winners of the Realm Awards. These awards recognize the most excellent science fiction and fantasy written by Christian authors. The winning titles are pictured at the top of this post. Check them out.

Happy reading!
