I’ve been hyper-focused on writing for the last couple months. That often happens during my first draft. I’m working on To Stream an Ocean, the last book of my Arts of Substance trilogy. The novel is around three-quarters finished. You can expect to see it in autumn of 2025.
In other news, a fun thing happened. To Weave the Wind made it into the “long list” for the Realm Award. This award gets a lot of entries, so the “long list” is the top selection that the finalists are chosen from. Winners are announced in July. This is the second novel in the Arts of Substance trilogy. March held a special treat for me. I was able to attend the Realm Markers Creativity Summit in Colorado Springs. Since the retreat is much smaller than a conference, the authors have time to get to know one another. I’m still basking in how welcoming and encouraging this group is. It’s hard to take a picture of encouragement, so I’ll pop in one of the view at the retreat. Here is sunset over Pike’s Peak.

It’s just possible that the ever-changing view of the mountain and the deer playing in falling snow, might have had something to do with the charm of the event.
